A Message for The Church As We Step Into A New Building...
January 2026
Peter Hogan
As we prepare for a new and exciting phase of our church, we must pray for our leadership but also remember that we all play a part in the continuous building of Belong. The future of our church must always focus on God. We must seek His guidance in all that we do with this gift He has provided us. It’s important to remember how to look for vision through God and not the world. Proverbs 29:18 reminds us that we must be willing to seek the advice of others as they can help us see how God is leading us. Psalm 127:1 tells us that building the church won’t be successful unless we remember that God is building it through us.
The Book of Matthew concludes with Jesus telling His followers to go everywhere and spread the gospel. It’s essential that we know what He has called us to say and do. In 2 Corinthians 5:20, Paul tells us we are the voice of God and will spread His word through us. Therefore, we should speak in a matter worthy of Him.
We must speak and share the Gospel in a way that makes people want to obey it and improve the world. It’s important to build a church that exemplifies what we see throughout the book of Acts and make it the best for God and people. The Church should prepare us for what is to come in God’s future kingdom.

In Revelation 7:9-10, John sees people from all over speaking in every tongue before God, shouting that He is the source of their salvation. The Church must be a place where we can share with each other and improve our heart posture. We should be willing to share the talents God gave us for His glory. God gave everyone unique giftings and talents to use for His glory while blessing people and the Church. We must steward and maintain what He has given us. If you haven’t found it, pray for God to reveal your gifts. Having a ministry doesn’t require education or expert knowledge; it requires a calling. With prayer, He can help you develop the skills you need to serve His kingdom. We must constantly learn and share our talents. The Church will glorify God when we use them for His sake, rather than our own. 1 Peter 4:10 tells us that He has given each of us spiritual gifts to use wisely. Each person and gift will come together to build the Body of Christ.
